Nefarious Schemingby `cmalidore

Every year I take a time out from work, stresses, and general life crap - to celebrate the New Year with plenty to drink and some good ol fashioned illustrative fun.

This time I decided something more pulpish would be fun, as I have taken so much inspiration from that era of illustration. Not a new line of thought for me by any means, but the last few New Years I seemed to go a more steampunk route. So it was time to change it up.

I do have various steps saved up from this, and will post them on my poorly neglected blog soon in a bit of a walk-through. I'll link it up in a journal when it's up for you all to enjoy.

Tools: Photoshop 7, 2 custom brushes, a lot of mead, and some ol New Year celebratory spirit. Maybe 7 or so hours? Not quite sure.

I may add to it later, not sure. But for now I call it good.

Very awesome! I like the colors and the general "creepiness" of the figure in front, there. It makes him look nefarious, alright! But the fact that he appears to be summoning a huge monster could have also tipped me off. XD
